Masters swimming is swimming for adults over 18 years old. It encompasses casual fitness swimming right through to highly-organised competitive swimming
Masters Swimming
Swim Wales are looking to promote, support and grow the number of Masters clubs in Wales.
How far you take your involvement with Masters swimming is up to you. However far you take it, you should enjoy better health, the chance to get and stay fit, and good friendships between swimmers.
Masters swimming is a great way to socialise and swim with others, and enjoy being coached as part of a group if you choose. You’ll even have opportunities to give open water or water polo a go.
Whether you swim for fun or to be competitive, Masters clubs are the place to go. You don’t need to be an ex-competitive swimmer to become a Masters swimmer. Whatever your motivation, Masters sessions are all about improving your stroke and breathing technique, boosting your fitness, and getting a serious workout. You can start at any age. Swimming is a sport for life!
Masters competitions are held regionally, nationally and internationally. There are good reasons to get involved, but there is no pressure to compete if it doesn’t take your fancy.
