Statement on Spectators at National Events

- National, Performance
Swim Wales has taken the difficult decision not to allow spectators at its national events for the remainder of 2021.
National events return after an 18-month absence with the Welsh Open Masters and Seniors Short Course on Saturday 27 November at Newport International Sports Village.
Whilst we understand and acknowledge the desire to support in person, the safety of our athletes, staff and volunteers is our top priority.
With rising covid-19 cases and the indoor nature of our events, it has been decided that the Welsh Open Masters and Seniors Short Course, British Para Swimming Winter National Meet and the Swim Wales Winter Championships will not permit spectators onsite. The Swim Wales Winter Championships will however be live streamed, and accessible via our Facebook page and YouTube platform.
This ensures that supporters will not miss a second of the action. Swim Wales will be providing comprehensive live coverage of every race and are exploring new ways to deliver enhanced race day content.
As competitions return we look forward to welcoming back our volunteers. There are a wide variety of opportunities and roles available, offering poolside viewing of the action taking place.
