Swim Wales is proud to announce that Rydal Penrhos Swim Academy has become the first Swim Wales Learn to Swim Accredited Provider in Conwy. This milestone achievement comes just months after the academy began operations in October 2024, marking a significant step forward in promoting high-quality swimming education in the region.
Swim Wales Learn to Swim accreditations are the national quality mark for providers delivering Learn to Swim Programmes in Wales. Hanna Guise, Swim Wales National Learn to Swim Manager, expressed her excitement about the academy’s accreditation:

Becoming a Learn to Swim Accredited Provider demonstrates their compliance with industry standards and good practice guidelines, as well as their commitment to providing the highest quality Learn to Swim experience.”
Since its launch, Rydal Penrhos Swim Academy has been dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and effective environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities. As the first accredited provider in Conwy, they are setting a benchmark for other local providers to follow.

What the Accreditation Means
The two-tiered Swim Wales accreditation system aims to ensure the best quality learn to swim programmes are operating across the country. The accreditation enables providers to demonstrate compliance to industry standards and safeguarding guidelines in relation to learn to swim provision. Gold Accredited providers are recognised for excellence in governance, sustainability and effectiveness – the award demonstrates the provider is delivering the best possible Learn to Swim experience for all.
